“The seven accomplished dancers in the Dutch duo Leine & Roebana’s “Sporen” (or “Traces”) had been putting themselves through the paces for quite a few minutes Friday night when something magical happened: One of them smiled, the kind of unconscious, exalted smile people sometimes make while pushing their bodies past their limits.”
“… That smile seemed to hint at a truer answer than was ever approached choreographically in “Sporen,” which was indeed technologically mediated. It was set in a gorgeously shifting landscape of light, including periodically illuminated hanging panels. In addition to the score, which self-consciously jumped from Boulez to Soundpalette to country music and more…”
